Frequently Asked Questions
Let’s dive into some of our most commonly asked questions!
Estimates and Pricing
Yes. Estimates are free and there is no obligation.
Not an accurate one. Footage, gates, slope, access and tear-out all change the price, and every yard is different. For a quick ballpark, use the Instant Quote button at the top of this page. Enter your address, draw your fence line on the map, pick a style, and you get a price range in a couple of minutes. For an exact price, a project manager measures your property and builds your estimate on site.
We give you a one-hour arrival window. Your project manager walks the project with you, takes measurements and builds your estimate on site. Most visits take less than an hour. You get a written estimate you can review and sign online.
Most estimate appointments are booked within about a week. Call or text (903) 833-3623 and we will give you the next open time.
Estimate appointments run Monday through Friday. If weekdays are hard for you, you do not have to be home. We can measure while you are away as long as we can reach you by phone.
It helps, but it is not required. We need access to the yard and a phone number where we can reach you during the appointment.
For repairs and smaller projects, yes. Text or email us a few close-up photos, a few wide shots or a short video, and a quick description. If we can see what we need, we will send your estimate without a visit. Larger projects get an on-site measure so the price is exact.
Payment and Financing
Half up front and half when the job is complete. The first half reserves your place on the install schedule.
Check, ACH bank transfer or card. Card payments carry a 3% processing fee. Check and ACH do not.
Yes, through Sunlight Financial for projects in Texas. No money down. No prepayment penalty. Checking your options does not affect your credit. Your first payment is not due until your project is complete. See our Financing page for full terms.
Scheduling and Installation
It changes with the season. Your project manager tells you where you fall on the install schedule before you sign, and we confirm your start date as it gets close. No guesswork.
Most residential fences take one to three days, depending on length, gates and tear-out. Projects with concrete or stain take longer because concrete needs time to set and wood needs time to dry before it is stained.
No. We need access to the work area and unlocked gates. Your project manager keeps you updated along the way.
Your project manager. The same person who measured your property and built your estimate runs your job from start to finish. The crew reviews a video walkthrough of your project before they arrive and uploads video of their progress at the end of each day.
Yes. Tear-out and haul-off are listed on your estimate, so you see exactly what is included.
Yes. We call 811 to have public utility lines marked before we set posts. Private lines such as sprinklers, pool plumbing and landscape lighting are not marked by 811. If you know where yours run, show your project manager.
Yes. We can clear brush and overgrowth along the fence line so the fence can be built, and it is listed on your estimate.
How We Build
Four feet deep. On our standard wood privacy fence we use steel posts set four feet in the ground and spaced six feet apart instead of the usual eight. Deeper posts set closer together keep a fence standing straight through North Texas wind and shifting soil.
Kiln-dried cedar pickets on steel posts are what we build most. Kiln-dried cedar holds its shape, so pickets do not shrink and gap after install. You can choose pre-stained or raw cedar. Pressure-treated pine is available on some fence styles.
Yes. You can order your fence pre-stained, or we can stain it after install once the wood has dried. We also clean and re-stain existing fences and decks. Plan on a maintenance coat about every three years.
Wood privacy fences, including side by side, board on board, cap and trim, and horizontal styles. Wrought iron. Chain link. Pipe fence. Farm and ranch fence. We also build custom gates and install automated gate systems.
Yes. We build 4, 6 and 8 foot fences. Your city and your HOA set the height limit for your lot, so check those rules before you pick a height.
Gates
Yes. We build swing, slide and cantilever gates and install LiftMaster gate operators with keypads and remotes.
If we installed it, call us and your project manager will take a look. We do not repair gate operators installed by other companies. If your current system keeps failing, we can quote a replacement with a new LiftMaster operator.
Repairs
Yes, with one limit. We have a project minimum, so a single latch, a few pickets or one leaning post is usually a better fit for a handyman. For larger repairs and storm damage, text us photos or a short video and we will tell you quickly whether it is a fit.
Neighbors, Property Lines and HOAs
You have two options. Split the cost with your neighbor, or replace it on your own. If you are splitting it, tell your project manager and we will break out the estimate so each neighbor sees their share.
No. We build the fence where you tell us to, and most replacement fences go where the old fence stood. If you are not sure where your line is, get a survey first. We can recommend a surveyor.
Yes. The application comes from you as the homeowner, and we give you what you need to submit it: a written estimate with the fence specs and a drawing of the layout. If your HOA requires a certain style, height or stain color, tell your project manager and we will build to it.
